WHY LENNOX

Alexandra Resort is committed to providing its guests with a unique all-inclusive vacation experience. The dependability and efficiency of the Lennox Quantum System and its proven effectivess in harsh costal conditions persuaded the management of Alexandra Resort to adopt this solution when the life cycle of the existing HVAC equipment was ending.

FACILITY OVERVIEW

Alexandra Resort is one of the largest Turks and Caicos destinations. Located in the award winning Grace Bay Beach, this top Caribbean beach resort offers its guest a wonderful vacation experience. The resort offers multiple accommodation option ranging from studios with kitchenettes to one and two bedroom suites with full kitchens. It also features a magnificent four-bedroom oceanfront penthouse. Suites located in the Chelsea and Lady Rose buildings are oceanfront. Suites located in the Prima Donna and Marilyn buildings offer lovely views of the lushly landscaped grounds and lagoon style swimming pool.

PROJECT CHALLENGE

The management of Alexandra Resorts was seeking a robust solution to replace the old and obsolete low-efficiency HVAC equipment. An addition to high efficiency and innovative technology requirements leading to enhanced guest comfort and lower operating costs, the management of Alexandra Resorts was looking for a solution capable of resisting the corrosive conditions that characterize the climate in the Caribbean islands. Furthermore, limited roof space required a compact solution.

THE SOLUTION

A total of 166 systems comprising 413 tons were installed. While the replaced Carrier equipment was capable of maintaining comfortable temperatures, it was not effective in reducing and maintaining acceptable moisture levels. The CBX32MV variable speed air handler connected to the S30 Wi-Fi thermostat greatly increases the ability to remove moisture. This is a very important consideration in the humid conditions prevailing throughout the Caribbean islands.

THE IMPLEMENTATION TEAM

Victor Mora, Managing Director of Lennox Global Export Operation, acknowledged the dedication of everyone who contributed to another successful Lennox installation. In addition to Rusty Brown, who led the business negotiations, Sumanth Surendra, Gunjan Gupta, and Rebecca Grigg of Lennox's Residential Supply Chain team were recognized for their help in delivering the project in a timely manner. Julio Torres, Global Sales Administrator, was especially helpful in managing the order and customer service process. Mark Tweedy was named for his remarkable job training the installers and Lennox's distributor, Bryant Air Condition.

THE RESULTS

The installation of the Lennox Quantum System was completed in January and has been fulfilling the expectations of the management of the Alexandra Resort. Both moisture and noise levels are noticeably lower, offering more comfort to resort guests and staff. The resort has already realized savings in energy invoices, in part derived from the ability to manage temperature settings using the S30 Wi-Fi thermostat.
